Land Use Consent was obtained to allow this architectural new build to progress on a site without reticulated wastewater supply.

The exceptional new build, under construction by RHJ Builders, is located on a coastal site, where on-site wastewater disposal is the practical option. After having already independently sought a Regional Council resource consent for the proposed on-site disposal system, the Building Consent process uncovered a District Plan infringement requiring additional consent from the Whangarei District Council.

Given the discovery late in the process, and in the middle of the construction season, a resource consent was obtained by Commons Planning within 10 weeks of being engaged. This was inclusive of the 3 week RMA Statutory Christmas and New Year shutdown period.
